Design is a way of thinking and creating. It tells stories, evokes emotions, and transforms realities by organizing, simplifying and helping us better understand the world around us.

I'm a Designer, Creative Director, and Brand Strategist with over 20 years of experience creating projects across North America, Europe, and Latin America. I ask questions to understand who I’m designing for, ensuring that my work is meaningful. I love learning, collaborating, and incorporating sustainability into both my work and everyday life.

I’ve received awards from the American Institute of Graphic Arts in New York, The Creative Review in London, the Museum of Architecture and Design in Chicago, and Output Magazine in Berlin. I hold an MFA in Media Design from Art Center College of Design, where my thesis, “Seams: Media Design, Fashion & Social Justice,”, won multiple awards and became part of the Center for the Study of Political Graphics' permanent collection in Los Angeles. In 1996, I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Graphic Design from Iberoamericana University in Mexico City. Beyond my work, I love sports, the outdoors, real food, and traveling with my husband and two kids.

Seams

Seams: Fashion, Media Design, and Social Justice uses storytelling to highlight the drama behind substandard clothing production. I used a fashion collection as a medium to portray an inconvenient reality. Each garment describes the drama behind sweatshops and the challenges garment workers face daily. My goal is to raise awareness about the people who create the clothes we wear every day and to humanize their struggles.

Creative direction and Video-ethnographic research: Adriana Parcero.
Photography: Isabel Avila.
Model: Rebekha Hogdson.
Sewing aide: Carrie Green.
MFA thesis, Media Design Program, Art Center College of Design / 2003.
